We are excited that you are interested in attending NC State University. We encourage you to become familiar with not only the university, but also the services available at the Disability Services Office by exploring our webpages. Please visit the accessibility webpage Accessibility at NC State if you have general access questions. If you have general questions concerning academic accommodations, feel free to call us at 919-515-7653; however, the DSO only reviews documentation for students that have accepted their admission into NC State or have registered for an academic course.
The Disability Services Office is committed to helping students with disabilities and their parents make a smooth transition from high school to the university. First, it is helpful to understand that the laws governing a university education are very different from those governing K-12 and so is the accommodation process. Students with disabilities who received accommodations in high school should be aware that universities do not necessarily provide the same accommodations set forth in their IEP or 504 Plan.
