Determining Essential Job Functions
Essential job functions are the fundamental duties of a position an individual holds or desires. They should be included in the job description. All other duties are considered marginal job functions, or non-essential job functions. Reasonable accommodations in employment are designed to provide equal access to essential job functions, not to marginal job functions.
Reasonable Accommodations in Employment
Reasonable accommodations include any change or modification in the work environment that enables an individual with a disability to enjoy equal employment opportunities. The University has published its policies regarding reasonable accommodations.
